World Aquatic Championships: Great Britain's Adam Peat Wins Career Seventh Title With Gold Medal In 50m Breaststroke
Great Britain's Adam Peat emerged as the 50m breaststroke gold medallist for the seventh title in his career at the World Aquatic Championships in South Korea.
Peat has now for the third consecutive times retained the 50m title having finished in 26.06 seconds. Also, he remains the 100m title holder for three times in a row.
"It's just shy of a world record but hopefully I've still got 10 years left and I'm still chasing to get to 25.7s," he told BBC Sport "Each World Championship I get more experienced and I don't get much emotion - I can just turn up and do it."
At the 100m breaststroke on Sunday, the Briton upset his won record of European Championship at 57.10 seconds to win the title - he set new world record for the category in 56.88 seconds.
The 24-year-olf now holds seven World Championship titles with a hat-trick in both 100m and 50m breaststroke. At the on-going event he has won a total of three medals.
