Wimbledon 2019: Roger Federer Thrashes Matteo Berrettini For 99th Match Win On Centre Court

Federer claimed an easy win against Matteo Berrettini in the round of 16 for his 17th appearances in the quarter-final at the Championship.

The Italian had little or no control of the round as the second seed swept through in three sets 6-1, 6-2, 6-2 winning 6-in-7 break points whilst his only chance to break was saved.

Unfortunately for Berrettini, he was playing against the eight-time Wimbledon champion for the first time in his career. He realised that putting up with someone who has won 99 matches on Centre Court can be really tough.

"I think it's going to be tough, plus he's getting into quarters with a lot of energy," Federer said about the 20-year-old.

Already, Federer is the biggest match winner at The Championship but he is about to be a centenarian and that will be decided in the quarter-finals against Kei Nishikori.
