Wimbledon 2019: Roger Federer Takes On Rafael Nadal In Semi-finals, Their First Meeting In 21 Years

Japanese ace Kei Nishikori could not make it past Roger Federer in quarter-finals and was eliminated after losing in four sets 6-4, 1-6, 6-4, 6-4. American player Sam Querrey suffered the same fate against Rafael Nadal who breezed through the sets to win in three sets 7-5, 6-2, 6-2.

Kei put up a good performance against Federer but could not follow his precedent at the 2018 ATP Finals, despite claiming the second set to recover from first set loss, he was outshone the Swiss who won four break points and saved 5-in-6 break of his. Federer wrapped up the match serving an ace.

The second seed recorded his 100th match win at The Champion, but that being said, he has a tough match ahead and that will be against Nadal whom he will be meeting for the first time since 2008.

In head2head counts between the two top-flight players, Nadal takes the lead with 24-15 against Federer ATP FedEx series but he trails behind the world no. 3 in all-time title winners at the Championship.

"We have a lot of information on Rafa, as does he on us," said Federer "So you can dive into the tactics like mad for two days, or you say 'it's grass court tennis so I'm going to come out and play my tennis."
