Wimbledon 2019: Rafael Nadal Breezes Through To Quarter-finals

Rafael Nadal has moved closer to the much-anticipated encounter with either Roger Federer or Novak Djokovic after edging out of Portuguese player Joao Sousa to reach the quarter-finals.

It was a match well-dictated by the third seed who faced no break points against his opponent to win in three sets by 6-2, 6-2, 6-2.

The Spaniard considerably had Joao under his controlled and took an early break through the sets without facing many scares to worry about. One interesting moment was at the thurd set, when he set the crowd on their feet for hitting a beautiful cross-court winner to claim a break point to take a 2-1 lead en route winning the round with an ace.

"It was a good solid match," the Spaniard said afterwards "I am happy to be where I am, the body is holding well and i'm playing some good tennis."

Nadal set up a quarter-final match with an American player Sam Querrey, who won a hard-fought match against his compatriot Tennys Sandgren in fourth sets 6-4,6-7(7), 7-6(3), 7-6(5).
