Wimbledon 2019: Novak Djokovic Beats Roger Federer To Win Title Back-to-Back

Novak Djokovic has emerged as The Championship winner for the second time in a row after winning a thrilling final match against Roger Federer.

With a forehand shot wide straight up in the air, the world no. 1 claimed the much-needed match point to clinch the victory after long five sets 7-6(7-5), 1-6, 7-6(7-4), 4-6, 13-12 (7-3).

Meanwhile, Federer gave the match all his best but saw two crucial Championship point saved by Djokovic at 8-7 in the fifth set, hence, the top seed remained offensive and pulled through tie-break to claim his fifth victory on Centre Court during the match that set a record for the longest Wimbledon final lasting for four hours and 57 minutes.

The Serb, who last season defeated South African Kevin Anderson to win the trophy, has now extended his Grand Slam streak to 16 titles, meanwhile, he trailed Rafael Nadal (18) and Roger Federer (20) in the all-time biggest winners list.

"I will try to forget," Federer said on receiving his prize for runner-up "It was a great match, it was long, it had everything. Novak, congratulations, man, that was crazy."

Djokovic's remarkable comeback from two match points deficit was the first time for any player to do so at the event since 1948 when Bob Falkenburg broke back and save three match points down to beat John Bromwich
