UEFA Announces Prize Money For Champions League, Europa League And UEFA Super Cup


European clubs will be getting more than they used to for making an appearance in the Champions League, Europa League and Uefa Super Cup from next season.

Uefa has announced that a whopping £2.9 billion will be available to share amongst clubs that qualify for the competitions and from the budgeted an amount of £470 million will be deducted for organisational costs and solitary payment.

See below for the breakdown of how £1.8bn (2.04 euros) will be shared:


  • Starting fee: £13.7m to be paid to clubs that qualify for the group stage

  • Fixed amounts: £2.5m to be paid to clubs for each group stage match win and £808,000 for losing.
Last 16: Clubs will receive £8.5m for reaching this stage

Quarter-finals: Clubs will receive £9.4m 

Semi-finals: Clubs will receive £13.5m 

Final: Winners will receive an additional amount of £3.6m
  • Coefficient ranking: Based on the ranking list within a period of 10 years, Lowest group-stage team to receive £1m and the same amount will be added on to each position. 
  • Market pool: Clubs to receive a share of £262m and that will be in accordance with the value of each national television market. 
For Europa League, an amount of £503 million will be available to clubs across the stages of the competition in next season.
