Rogers Cup: Novak Djokovic Pulls Out To Take "Longer Rest"

Novak Djokovic has announced his withdrawal from Coupe Rogers which is scheduled to kick off on August 3, stating that he needed to rest.

This season has been an interesting run for Serb who having won the Wimbledon for the fourth time, extended his Gram Slam streak to sixteen.

The world no. 1 showed a string resilience against Roger Federer in the Championship final and survived the hard-fought match, saving two crucial match points to later claim the trophy after nearly five hours.

"With the support of my team, I have decided to give my body longer rest and recovery time before coming back again to plays," said the tournament's four-time champion.

"I love Canada and I have many friends there that always make me feel like I'm at home and I'm looking forward to coming back again to play in front of all of you in Montreal.
