Petition For ASAP Rocky's Release From Prison In Sweden Gains 65,000 Signatures
The Harlem rapper was arrested in the capital Stockholm following an altercation he had with a man on June 30 and has since been held behind bars on suspicion of assault.
Whilst it is apparent that the rapper will have to remain in prison for two more weeks after the Supreme Court declined an appeal for his release, an online petition against his continual detainment has surfaced, set up by a group called #JusticeForRocky.
The group decried the unacceptable treatment meted out to the rapper behind bars by the Swedish prison officials who have deprived him of having to talk to his legal counsel.
Thus far, the petition, which was launched on Tuesday has received more than 65,000 signatures but still fall short of the group's target of 75,000.
