Peter Crouch Retires From Professional Football
The 38-year-old joined Burnley from Stoke City in January after agreeing to a one-year contract of player-exchange with the club that lasted until the end of the 2018-19 season.
"After a lot of deliberation this summer I have decided to retire from football," he wrote in a tweeted message that was retweeted on Stoke City's official page.
Crouch started his career at Tottenham Hotspur, and in the course of his career, he also played for Liverpool (2005-08) where he won the Champions League, FA Cup and Community Shield.
He added: "Our wonderful game has given me everything. I'm so thankful to everyone who helped me get there and to help me stay there for so long."
In his career that spans for 21 years, he spent almost all in the Premier League except his loan move to Swedish side IFK Hassleholm in 2000. he has a record of 108 goals in domestic League in 468 appearances.
