Patrice Evra Retires From Professional Football
Former France international Patrice Evra has decided to call a quit his professional football career after 20 years.
Annoucing his retirement, he told Soccer AM, "To be fair it was an easy decision to make. I feel blessed and really grateful every day about what I have achieved.
Evra's longest spell was at Manchester United which he joined from Monaco in 2006 under Sir Alex Ferguson. He won with the clu in eight seasons, five Premier League titles, Champions League (2007-08) amongst others.
"I went with my instinct, I just want to stop now. I am 38. I know I still look young but it's time for the new generation. I am happy."
During his three seasons spell at Juventus, the Frenchman won with club the Italian Serie A and Coppa de Italia back-to-back (2014/15, 2015/16).
Also, he revealed that his next plan is becoming a football coach and has since 2013 been working on getting the UEFA B Coaching License. After that, he planned to go for the UEFA A license.
