Nigerian Mogul Femi Otedola Splashes $25,000 On Super Eagles
Despite not winning the 2019 AFCON trophy in Egypt, the Nigerian Super Eagles have got a donation of $25,000 for a goal scored in 2-1 loss of Algeria in their semi-final match.
Nigerian business magnate Mr. Femi Otedola had promised to spoil on the Super Eagle for every goal scored in the semi-finals in a bid to encourage the team to make it to the final.
However, that exceptional did not materialize after losing to Algeria but they proceeded to beat Tunisia in the third-place play-off to win the bronze medal - they are getting the donated prize money not for finishing third.
"Business mogul Femi Otedola has fulfilled his pledge of $25,000 to the @NGSuperEagles for their one goal against Algeria in AFCON 2019 semi-final," The NFF statement reads in a tweeted message on Tuesday.
