German Grand Prix: Max Verstappen Wins As Mercedes Duo Miss Podium Appearance

For the first time this season, Mercedes duo  Lewis Hamilton and Valterri Bottas failed to make podium position whilst Red Bull's Max Verstappen claimed his second race victory in a chaotic wet-dry final race in Hockenheim on Sunday.

Neither Hamilton nor Bottas made top-10 in the final but Sebastian Vettel came from behind to finish in second position and Daniil Kvyat took third place for Toro Rosso's season's first podium appearance.

After a brief control of the race, Hamilton ran wide and broke his front wing and was later penalised for an infringement on pit-lane. He continued to fight on but settled in eleventh position after his car spun.

It is could not be better said that the Briton had a bad day, and according to him after the race, he admitted that was his "worst day in the office for a long time."

In the other hand, Vettel had a good day compared to his disappointing race at the qualifying when he dropped out following an engine failure in Q1.

However, it did not all go well with Verstappen but he was able to keep his focus despite having his car spun 360 during the race. He now trailed Championship leader Hamilton by 61 points and 22 points behind Bottas to be in third position in the standings.
