Daniel Sturridge Banned For Six Weeks

Daniel Sturridge has got himself into trouble with the FA for breach of betting rules that got him served two weeks ban from playing football.

The former England international offence was given out a tip on a potential transfer to his cousin to bet on in 2018 and that was against the FA regulations.

Having being found guilty of the alleged charges against him, the FA has fined £75,000 and suspended four of the six weeks ban he is meant to serve.

In a statement from the FA, it described the player's offence as "cynical determination" to give an undue advantage in betting and suspending him for lesser than six months will be a compromise of the rules.

Danny, who is currently on loan move to West Brom from Liverpool will be leaving the club when his contract runs out, is glad for having nine of the eleven charges against him dismissed.

"I am pleased that nine of the 11 charges were dismissed," said Danny "that the panel found me to be an honest and credible witness, and that my actions on one particularly difficult day were out of character."

However, the FA is not pleased the regulatory commision judgement on the case and "respectfully disagrees " with their findings and willbe appealing against the charges which were dismissed and the sanction which was imposed"
