Danai Gurira Quits Role In 'The Walking Dead'
Danai Gurira has confirmed quitting her role in American TV drama series The Walking Dead during a show panel on Friday afternoon.
The 41-year-old who made her first appearance in the drama in the season 3 starring as Michonne, confirmed that her last will be season 10 will her last - she starred as Okoye in the famous Marvel's superhero film Black Panther.
"I would just like to say that this has been one of the purest joys of my life to play this role," she said confirming her exit from the drama late in the show.
"I am very very thankful for the experience I've had in ways I can't even express right now. My heart does not leave in any way shape or form. The TWD family is forever. It doesn't ever end."
Gurira will be the second star to leave the film after Andrew Lincoln who announced he will be stepping down his role at Comic-Con in 2018.
The drama director Robert Kirkman assured viewers that the drama would not end with the season 9 as many would anticipate because it abruptly wrapped last month.
"Anyone who is concerned that the comic book wrapping up means that season 10 is going to spontaneously end on episode four, as a surprise, that is not going to happen," Robert said.
AMC, the airing TV station confirmed at on Friday that the season 10 will premiere on October 6 and the showrunner Angela Kang admitted Gurira will be missed in the drama.
