British Grand Prix: Lewis Hamilton Takes Sixth Silverstone Victory As Sebastian Vettel, Max Verstappen Crash
Lewis Hamilton claimed a record sixth British Grand Prix victory in a thrilling final that ended with Mercedes seventh one-two finish of the season on Sunday at the Silverstone Circuit.
Valtteri Bottas gave the race a good fight but could hold off the Briton from speeding by taking advantage of the safety car period and won in 1:21:08.452 seconds.
Whilst Sebastian Vettel and Red Bull's Max Verstappen were engaged in a crash after an overtake attempt went wrong, Charles Leclerc claimed his fifth podium position of the season in third place behind the Mercedes duo.
Stewards are understood to be investigating the crash between Vettel and Max, and the Ferrari driver risk being penalised if found guilty of the accident. However, Max who finished fifth was clearly in front but Vettel could not slow down for a turn in the corner leading to him crashing to the Max who spun off the track after the fighting stunt went wrong.

Back to the British GP, Hamilton extended his dominance at Silverstone by winning his sixth victory for the all-time biggest winner. He is followed by Jim Clark (GB, 5), Alain Prost (France, 5), Nigel Mansell (GB, 4), Jack Brabham (Aussie, 3), Niki Lauda (Austria, 3) and Michael Schumacher (Germany, 3).
"I can't tell you how proud I am to be here today in front of my home crowd," Hamilton said.
"There are so many British flags out there and every year I see it and you think you get used to it but it feels like the first time and I'm forever grateful to everyone out here I hope you enjoyed the day."
