Atletico Madrid: Kieran Trippier Joins Club After Signing Four-Year Deal To Leave Tottenham

Tottenham centre-back Kieran Trippier has left the club for Atletico Madrid after signing a four-year contract for £20 million on Wednesday.

It was apparent the 28-year-old will not be returning with the club as he did not join the team in their preseason tour training session and last week he teased of his interest to leave Spurs in this transfer window.

When about his future at the club, Trippier, whose contract with the English side runs until 2022 was uncertain about his spell at the club as he said, "I want to stay in England but what can you do?"

Before securing a deal with the Spaniards, Juventus and Napoli were also in the race for the Bury-born player who was once linked to Real Madrid.

Trippier finished the 2018-19 Champions League season with Tottenham as runners-up after losing 2-0 in the final to Premier League rivals Liverpool.
