Arsenal Unveil Club's First Technical Director


Arsenal have never had a technical director since it was founded over a century ago until Tuesday when it unveiled the first person ever to occupy the office. 

Former Brazilian international Edu who played at the club between 2001 and 2005 has been named as the club's first technical director. The 41-year-old played as a winger and made 33 appearances under the club's former manager Arsene Wenger.

Arsenal head of football, Raul Sanllehl, described the appointment of Edu as one that is a "true Arsenal man" and one that has "great experience and technical football knowledge." 
 
He added: "His arrival is the final and very important part of the jigsaw in our development of a new football infrastructure to take us forward." 

The former general coordinator of Brazil national team said in a statement that he is thrilled to return to the club that has a "special place" in his heart.
