Also, the team's captain Laurent Koscienly has been linked to Rennes and is understood to have agreed on personal terms Ligue 1 side. He has not joined the club in the pre-season training session and was missed in the team's 3-0 win over Fiorentina on Saturday.

Arsenal missed out on the chance to grab a spot in the Champions League after losing 4-1 to Chelsea at the UEFA Europa League after they had finished fifth in the Premier League in the 2018-19 season. Therefore, they will be appearing in the Europa League next season for three consecutive season.
