Arsenal Interested In Signing Marcelo Vieira From Real Madrid As Player Requests To Leave Club
Arsenal have joined in in the contest to sign Real Madrid left-back Marcelo Vieira who has reportedly requested to leave the club in this transfer window.
The Brazilian player's contract with the Spaniards runs until 2022 and now that his position in the team stands to face a considerable challenge from Ferland Mendy signed from Lyon for £47 million this summer, he desires to leave the club for any suitable club.
Marcelo who is one of Real's long-serving player has not only been linked to Arsenal but to other European top-flight clubs such as Paris Saint-Germain, AC Milan and Juventus.
Since he joined Real from Brazilian side Fluminense in 2007, the 33-year-old has a record of 25 goals in 343 appearances. In that 13 seasons at Real, he has won with the club five La Liga titles, four Champions League titles, three UEFA Super Cup and two Copa dei Rey.
