Zion Williamson Tops NBA 2019 Draft, Goes To New Orleans Pelicans
Zion Williamson has finally become NBA player after topping the draft in the No. 1 spot and to join the New Orleans Pelicans from next season.
The former Duke is understood to have signed a four-year deal of $45 million with the franchise which are in talks with Los Angeles Lakers on Anthony Davis trade dated to be finalised on July 6 with a salary cap of $27 million.
"My mom sacrificed a lot for me," Zion said on his draft "She did everything for me. I just want to thank her."
The highly-fancied player, 18, suffered a knee injury after his Nike trainers blew up just seconds after stepping on the court during Duke 77-88 defeat to North Carolina in February.
