Women's World Cup: France Take 1-0 Win Over Nigeria To Reach Knockout Stages

The Nigerian Falcons had an unlucky night with hosts France having conceded a goal from a penalty in the last 11 minutes to get knocked out of the competition.
France's team did have much favourable control of the game and their Nigerians counterparts fair well only until Viviane Asseyi was fouled in the box.
Wendie Renard took the penalty and could not beat Chiamaka Nndozie but the VAR ruled the Nigerian goalkeeper had moved before the whistle and Renard this time, got it right slotting home a right-footed shot.
In effect, France came up atop Group A and the Nigerian team will be heading back their home having being defeated.
