Queen's Club Championship: Felix Auger Alliassime Beats Stefanos Tsitsipas To Book Spot In Semi-finals
Felix Auger-Alliassime is a match away from reaching his second ATP 500 final in a row after thrashing Greek veteran Stefanos Tsitsipas in the quarter-finals in straight sets, 7-5, 6-2.
Stefanos was playing his second career series with the Canadian after their first at Indian Wells this year, which he lost in straight sets to the seventh seed.
Alliassime, known for strong forehand, served nine aces and won 71 per cent of his first-serve. Aside from saving all seven break points advantage against the Stefanos, he converted three out of five of his break points chances.
The victory put Alliassime, 18, who missed out wimning his first career title Matteo Berrettini at Stuttgart Open, in the history of Fever-Tree Championship as the youngest player to appear in the semi-finals after Lleyron Hewitt in 1999.
However, Feliciano Lopez will be next to face Alliassime in his next match and both players will be meeting for the first time in their career.
