Newcastle United Manager Rafael Benitez To Leave Club By Month End
Rafael Benitez will be leaving Newcastle United by the end of June as announced by the club on Monday.
Newcastle revealed they habe tried to keep Benitez at the club but could not reach an agreement with him and his reps. As a result, he will be leaving the club on the date his three-year contract runs out and that will be on June 30th.
In the statement, Magpies confirmed the Spaniard's exit saying: "it has not been - and will not be possible to reach an agreement with Rafa and his representatives"
The former Liverpool manager is rumoured to be linked to a Chinese Super League club Dalian Yifang for an annual salary of a whooping £12 million.
Benitez, in his 26 years long coaching career, he spent 10 years of it working in the Premier League, leading Newcastle to finish in 13th position on his departure to China.
At Liverpool, he won the Champions League on his debut (2004/05), the FA Cup (2005/06), and EUFA Super Cup (2005) and the FA Community Shield (2006).
At Chelsea, he led to side to win EUFA Europa Cup (2012/13) and was sacked only for Jose Mourinho to be reappointed as the club manager.
