NBA Finals: Golden State Warriors Rout Toronto Raptors To Push Series To Game 6
Toronto Raptors failed to claim a much-needed game at home as Golden State Warriors won by 106-105 to improve 3-2 in Game 5 of the NBA Finals.
Steve Curry and Klay Thompson dropped in crucial three-pointers to shrugged off Raptors which were blasting off ahead for the Championship title but Warriors have pushed the race trophy into Game 6.
Despite Kevin Durant going down with an injury in his first appearance since May 8 early in the second quarter, Warriors fought through against Kawhi Leonard's led side which wiped of their six-point lead into the fourth quarter and reclaimed the lead from Thompson's three-pointer with 56.6 seconds left to play after Curry had tied the scoring.
Raptors repeatedly failed to converted chances afforded them from Draymond Green and DeMarcus Cousins' fouls and last was that Kyle Lowry's three-point attempt failed to dunk at the buzzer.
Durant's presence was felt within the time he lasted (12 mins) and had knocked down three 3-pointers and 3-in-5 shots and finished the game with 11 points and two rebounds.
"I'm going to get my legs ready for Game 6 and take those same shots," says Curry who notched up game-high scoring of 31 points, eight rebounds and seven assists. "I' have a whole lot [to give]. It's going to be a dogfight for 48 minutes. We'll be ready"
Leonard finished the game atop in scoring for Raptors with 26 points, 12 rebounds and six assists. Lowry followed in the stats for Raptors with 18 points, four rebounds and six assists.
Thompson knocked down seven 3-pointers with 9-in-13 shots from the field to finish with 26 points, six rebounds, three assists and one steal. Green put up 10 points, 1o rebounds and eight assists.
