Manchester United: Juan Mata Signs Three-Year Contract Extension

Juan Mata will be staying much longer at Manchester United than leaving this summer when his contract expires after signing another three years with the club.

Last season, United triggered a year extension clause for the Spaniard to stay at Old Trafford but that has changed under Ole Solksjaer who wants to keep him longer a season despite having an increasingly limited role at the club.

The former Chelsea midfielder, 31, joined United at then club recording signing of £37.1 million in 2014 from Stanford Bridge and earns from that contract £140,000-a-week.

In his five years stint, he has made 218 appearances scoring 45 goals and won with the club the EFL Cup (2015/16) and the Europa League title (2016/17).
