Kawhi Leonard "Seriously Considering" Favouring Los Angeles Lakers In Free Agency

Los Angeles Lakers are about to welcome in the 2019 NBA Championship winner, Kawhi Leonard, as rumours are going around that the Toronto Raptors forward will favour a move to Lakers in free agency on Sunday.

It does not seem like Raptors are making efforts to ensure the player return to the team just as Klay Thompson will be returning to Golden State Warriors on full five-year maximum contract for $190 million.

Stephen Smith from ESPN dropped the hint on what might be Leonard's decision in free agency in a tweeted message on Friday. He wrote in the caption to an uploaded clip: "I have received the word that Kawhi Leonard is seriously considering the Los Angeles Lakers."

Should that be true, Lakers will be getting a massive boost on the arrival of Leonard who is two-time NBA Finals MVP and was instrumental to San Antonio winning the NBA Finals in 2014 against then LeBron James' Maimi Heat and Steve Curry's Golden State Warriors in 2019.

Already, Lakers have secured Anthony Davis' trade from New Orleans Pelicans in exchange for Lonzo Ball, Brandon Ingram, Josh Hart and three first-round picks just as hinted by ESPN insider Andrian Wojnarowski. However, the trade will take full effect on July 6.

With Leonard, Lakers now have greater chances of making the NBA playoffs for the first time since 2013 with the likes of LeBron James, Antonio Davis, Leonard and Kyle Kuzma in the team.
