Jose Mourinho Rules Out Newcastle Manager Role, Says Club Lack Winning Objective

Jose Mourinho seemed to have ruled out the possibilities of succeeding Rafael Benitez at Newcastle United for a reason that has to do with his "nature" which does not follow the club "objective" of taking "seventh, eighth or ninth" position in the Premier League.

There have been speculations that Magpies might want the former Manchester United manager to replace Benitez, but there is a twist to having the Portuguese and that is "winning" trophies otherwise they better rule him out.

Benitez will be leaving the club on June 30: the date his three years contract expires at Newcastle. He is understood to be linked to Chinese Super League club Dalian Yifang for an annual salary of £12 million.

"The only thing that I know is what I don't want: I am quite pathological in the sense of I have to play to win," Mourhino had told The Coach Voice prior to the Spaniard's exit from the club.

The Portuguese lost his job at Manchester United in December last year after the club was defeated 3-1 by Liverpool at Anfield and was replaced by Ole Solksjaer Gunnar.

"If somebody gives me a wonderful 10-year contract and the objective of the team is to stay in the first half of the table and if you finish seventh, eighth or ninth, it's perfect, then that's not for me. That's my nature."

Mourinho was rumoured to be linked to Real Madrid before the club changed grounds and re-appointed Zinedine Zidane who left the club after winning three consecutive Champions League titles.
