Golden State Warriors And Shaun Livingston Agree To Push Back Contract Guarantee Date
Golden State Warriors have chosen to be reserved on their decision on Shaun Livingston and have agreed with the player to move forward back the date set for his contract to July 10.
Livingston joined the team from Brooklyn Nets in 2014 and signed a three-year contract extension of $24 million in July 2017, but the deal is non-guaranteed and can now be waived by the team despite having until 2019-20 in the contract that is worth $7.7 million.
The move will allow the team to have a better view of what could have done with the point guard rather than setting him off with a $2 million payout according to ESPN insider Adrian Wojnarowski.
Presently, Warriors are seriously plagued by injury with Kevin Durant and Klay Thompson set to be ruled out for a long period of time for injury sustained from the NBA Finals where they lost to Toronto Raptors.
However, the team offered Klay Thompson a full five-year contract of $190 million on Thursday, to keep the point guard at the club rather than lose him in free agency which kicks off on Sunday, June 30.
