Frank Lampard Signs Three-Year Deal With Chelsea For £16.5 Million

Frank Lampard has been appointed as Chelsea new manager after an agreement was reached with his former club Derby County on Tuesday.

Lampard agreed to a three-year contract for £16.5 million with the club and will now fill the gap left off former manager Maurizio Sarri who left the club to join Juventus.

Derby had attempted holding on to the former England player by offering him a new contract but later conceded to release him to Chelsea which agreed to pay £4 million in compensation to Derby.

After an agreement was reached between both clubs, Derby in a statement implored Chelsea to "swiftly conclude their discussions" to allow both sides prepare for their pre-season games.

Lampard, who only spent a season at Derby led the club to reach the EFL Championship play-off final but failed to get promotion to Premier League having lost 2-1 to Aston Villa.
