Derby County Give Chelsea Go Ahead On Frank Lampard's Move To Replace Maurizio Sarri


It is no longer a thing to doubt that Frank Lampard in a matter of days would be appointed as the new manager of Chelsea - a club he formerly played for - reportedly on a three-year deal.

Lampard's current club Derby County have agreed to hold talks on his departure to Chelsea as replacement for Blues' former manager Maurizio Sarri who left to join Juventus last week.

"Derby County Football Club can confirm that they have granted permission for Chelsea Football Club to speak to Frank Lampard about the vacant  managerial position at Stanford Bridge," a statement released by the reads.

Derby have now dropped its moves to keep the former England international by offering him new contract and Chelsea on their part have agreed to pay £4 million in compensation to the club.

A deal is set to be agreed on in matter of day as Derby also stated that it hope to "swiftly conclude their discussions" with Chelsea to allow every prepare for preseason games.

Lampard led the Championship side to reach the playoffs but were knocked out Aston Villa in a 2-1 defeat at Wembley Stadium.
