Austrian Grand Prix: Max Verstappen Overtakes Charles Leclerc To Claim Season's First Win
Red Bull's Max Verstappen and pole sitter Charles Leclerc had a fierce contest for the winner's slot but the Dutch sped by to take the first place of Austrain Grand Prix.
Charles had controlled the race through to Last five laps when Verstappen charged up and challenged him for the first place going wheel to wheel until lap 68 before the Monagasque went wide and off the track.
Verstappen raced on for the lead with 2.7 seconds ahead of Leclerc to claim his first race victory of the season in 1:22:02.822 seconds.
Mercedes made podium position with Valterri Bottas finishing in third place and Sebastian Vettel overtook Lewis Hamilton in the last laps to finish fourth leaving the Briton to finish fifth.
However, the dramatic situation between Max and Leclerc is under investigations but no penalties have been served to anyone.
Hamilton maintains leadership of drivers' standings with 197 points followed by his teammate Valtteri Bottas with 166 points and Max Verstappen takes third place with 126 points.
