Antoine Griezmann Set To Join Barcelona This Summer
Antoine Griezmann is set to leave Atletico Madrid for Barcelona and the club's C.E.O Miguel Angel Gil Marin confirmed his departure to Nou Camp this summer.
The Frenchman teased of his exit from the Atletico after France match against Andorra in the UEFA Euro qualifier on Tuesday but did not mention his move will be to join the La Liga champions.
Clearing on the forward's move, Miguel revealed that he has known since March that the 28-year-old's move is set for their La Liga rival Barcelona in an interview with a Spaniard radio station.
He attributed Griezmann's move to Barcelona to the feelings of some players "who feel they are greater than" their team and would prefer leaving for a bigger club.
Since he joined Atletico from Real Sociedad in 2014, he has scored 94 goals in 180 appearances, winning with the club the Europa League title (2017-18) and the UEFA Super Cup (2018).
