Ajax Defender Matthijs de Ligt Closes On £62 Million Move To Juventus
Ajax player Matthijs de Ligt appears he would be joining Maurizio Sarri at Juventus next season despite links to Europe's top-flight clubs with huge spending capabilities.
Aside from being instrumental to Ajax winning the Dutch League title, the defender was impressive at the Champions League during which Ajax reached the semi-final for the first time since 1996/97. De Ligt is expected to clinch a deal worth more than £62 million when he finally secures a contract with the Italian side which have been the Serie A defending champions for five straight seasons.
The 18-year-old who has his footballing background rooted in Ajax made his debut for the senior team against Willem II Tilburg in 2017 during which he scored to become the youngest player ever to score after Clarence Seedorf.
