Speculations have been going around for weeks, that Robert Pattison is in pole for Ben Affleck's role as Batman. Today, Warner Bros. has finally made a decision known on who will be a suitable replacement for the role and that fell to the Twilight actor's lot.
It is understood that the studios carried out mock screen test between the 33-year-old and another contender Nicholas Hoult who was also rumoured to be linked to the role, but the Briton came up atop after the rigorous process.
Pattison was already reported to have been the film director Matt Reeves' favourite but the studios wanted to be open-minded on whom would be right to cast as Bruce Wayne between the two contenders in the franchise's oncoming new entry "The Batman" which is dated for release on 25 June 2021.
It is now official that Ben has passed the cap over to Pattison. The 46-year-old debuted the role in 2016's Batman vs Superman: Dawn of Justice. He also made a cameo appearance in Suicide Squad and left it after starring in Justice League in 2017. Prior to his exit, Ben was meant to co-write, direct and produce oncoming entry "The Batman".
