Virgil van Dijk Announced As Premier League Player of the Season

Liverpool defender and Holland international Virgil van Dijk has been announced as the Premier League Player of the Season.
The award will be van Dijk's second of the season having won the PFA's Players' Player of the season over Raheem Sterling last month. 
Dijk, who moved to Anfield from Southampton in 2018 was contested against by teammates Mohamed Salah and Sadio Mane, Manchester City's Raheem Sterling, Sergio Aguero, and Bernado Silva and Chelsea's Eden Hazard.

Virgil van Dijk wins PFA Players' Player of the season last month

The 27-year-old has been efficiently reliable in Liverpool's central defensive and appeared in all Premier League and Champion League matches played by the club only since his debut except for missing only 35 minutes in the club's 3-2 win against Newcastle United last week. 
He will be the third defender in the history of Premier League to lift the trophy after Manchester City's Vincent Kompany and ex-Manchester United player Nemanja Vidic.
