Vincent Kompany Quits Manchester City To Become Player-Manager At Anderlecht

Vincent Kompany has ended his 11-year spell at Manchester City to become player-manager of Belgian club Anderlecht.
The centre-back who joined City from Hamburg in 2008, played his last game with the club in FA Cup final 6-0 win over Watford at Wembley on Saturday.
Vincent announced leaving City in a letter released on Facebook and praised the club for giving him "everything" in his career.
"Countless of times have I imagined this day. After all  the club has felt nearby for so many years. Man City has given me everything. I've tried to give bacm as much as I possibly could, " he wrote in the letter.

The club's chairman Khaldoon Al Mubarak confirmed defender's exit in statement that, "There have been manh important contributors to Manchester City's renaissance, but arguably none are more important than Vincent Kompany."
In the Belgian's last season at Etihad, Manchester City became the first team to win English domestic treble - Premier League, FA Cup and EFL Carabao Cup.
In another separate letter Vincent posted to Facebook, he confirmed his appointment as player-manager at Anderlecht.
"I stopped at their training grounds on my way to international duty last year. Just to say hello," Vincent revealed in the letter ""Coucke, the chairman, and sports director Michael Verschueren asked my opinion regardinv the difficult situation the call was in."
He acknowledged that offer was one that came "unexpected" and after signing the contract "was leff not onlg impressed but also intrigued".
