Spanish Grand Prix: Lewis Hamilton Takes First Place In Mercedes Fifth One-Two Race In A Row
Lewis Hamilton took back race winning with a dominating pace to beat teammate Valtteri Bottas in the final of Spanish Grand Prix on Sunday.
It was yet another Mercedes one-two race now for the fifth consecutive time as Hamilton regained lead in championship title race with seven points lead over Bottas who has 105 points.
The Mercedes Finn star driver dominated the qualifying for his third pole position of the season but Hamilton delivered a stunning performance as he sped by him to cross the finish line in 1:35:50.443 seconds.
Conversely, it was not that fine with the Ferrari team Sebastian Vettel and Charles Leclerc which missed podium positions after dropping behind Red Bull's Max Verstappen to finish in fourth and fifth respectively.
After the race, the Briton blamed his poor performance at the qualifying on his car balance but applauded his improvements with it in the final.
"The balance yesterday was a bit of a nightmare," says Hamilton who finished the qualifying in second place behind Bottas "but the racr has generally been quitr good for me."
He went further to explain how he made the turnaround for himself saying that he had to adjust his "driving style a little bit" and that worked out fine for him.
