Premier League: Vincent Kompany Sends Manchester City Up In Table With 1-0 Win Over Leicester City
Manchester City are back on track with the Premier League title bid after a 1-0 win over Leicester City at Etihad Stadium to regain table lead by a point lead over their rivals Liverpool.
Leicester had been defensively resilient against City until Vincent Kompany boosted City's title hope by scoring a well-deserved winning goal with 20 minutes remaining to play.
Kompany took his time before pounding in the winning from 25-yard to beat Leicester goalkeeper Peter Schmeichel to the goal in the 70th minute.
The goal scored by City's captain happened to be the club's 100th in all competitions at Etihad Stadium and their 13th Premier League game in a row.
"One game left and it will be so tough like today," says Pep Guardiola after the match "We are in the last game and it is in our hands. We are going to prepare well."
Liverpool now trail closely by a point behind Manchester City which lead with 95 points and will play their last match of the season against Brighton on Sunday.
