Premier League: Manchester City Crowned As Champions After 1-4 Win At Brighton & Hove Albion

Manchester City have successfully defended the Premier League title back-to-back with an emphatic 4-1 against Brighton for their fourth and second under Pep Guardiola.
Liverpool fiercely contended for the title trailing City by just a point and needed Brighton to beat the champions to pave the way to their first since 1989/90. Unfortunately, the Guardiola men would let the last game slip away and come back from a goal down to win at the Amex Stadium.
Brighton had stunned City with an opening goal from Glenn Murray's header in the 27th minutes and was swiftly responded with an equalizer from Sergio Aguero a minute later.
Liverpool's title eventually slipped away when Aymeric Laporte put City in the lead pouncing in a header following a corner.
Riyad Mahrez fired City into safety with the third goal with a spectacular dribble on the edge of the box before smacking home after the break and Ilkay Gundogan sealed the victory with a sensation finished from a 30-yard free-kick in the 72nd minutes.
Pep Guardiola-led team will be the first to retain the title back-to-back in history after Manchester United in 2008/09.
City finished the season with two points shy 100 points to clinch lift the Premier League trophy for the fourth time and trailed Chelsea (5) and Manchester United (13) for the biggest winners of the title.
