Premier League: Liverpool Regain Table Lead After 3-2 Win Over Newcastle
Liverpool returned to the top spot of the Premier League table with Divock Origi scoring a late decider to clinch the much-needed victory over Newcastle by 3-2 at Tyneside stadium.
As title bid get tighter between Manchester City and Liverpool, the victory would push the pressure over to the defending champions which now trail Reds by two points in EPL table.
Despite Liverpool fair control of the game, Magpies were able to shove the pressure off their back equalizing the visitors' lead until Origi's header wrecked their hope to get a point from the match.
Reds moved ahead with Virgil van Dijk headed in Alexander-Arnold's cross into the net from close range and Magpies responded with Christian Atsu smacking in a rebound from Salomon Rondon's shot.
Mo Salah added in the second goal tapping in van Dijk's cross and Magpies responded to the lead through Salomon Rondon who beat Allison with a right foot shot from inside the area.
Liverpool finally sealed the victory late into the game as Origi who replaced Salah headed in Xherdan Shaqiri's cross and get Liverpool through the match against Newcastle.
Salah's goal happened to be his 100th career goal in European top-flight clubs and his team Liverpool moved close to Premier League title glory with two pointy lead over Manchester City in the table.
