NBA Playoffs: Steve Curry Leads Golden State To Take Game 2 With 114-111 Victory Over Portland Trail Blazers In West. Conference Finale
Portland Trail Blazers blew double-digits lead from first half to lose on the road to Golden State Warriors by 114-111 in Game 2 of the Western Conference finale.
Warriors took a 2-0 lead in series with Andre Iguodala making a brilliant steal from Damian Lillard on his attempt for a three-point shot to tie the scoreing in late 2.3 second remaining.
Steve Curry remained Warriors' stronghold in the absence of Kevin Durant, leading the scoreboard with 37 points, eight rebounds, eight assists. Klay Thompson followed him with 24 points, three rebounds, and two assists.
On the other hand it was disappointing night for C.J McCollum who admitted Golden State deserved the victory saying "they earned it down the stretch". He finished with 22 points, three rebounds, and five assists behind Lillard who led the side with 23 point, 10 assists, and five rebounds.
Warriors staged a comeback from the third quarter after a slow run in the second with Damian Lillard knocking down triple threes to keep Blazers ahead by 15 points (50-65) in the first half.
Lillard did not enjoy from space as much in the third with Klay Thompson keeping off three-point range as Warriors took the lead by 77-75 from his three-point shot before both sides entered into the deciding quarter on ties 89: 89.
Warriors wiped off Blazers six point lead with less than four minutes remaining but Seth Curry who was sensational in the fourth, hitting threes back-to-back to put Blazers in the lead by a point 110-111.
Warriors would rally back and win the game as Curry connected Draymond Green for a two-point dunk with 12 seconds remaining after C.J McCollum's late two-point shot failed to drop into the basket.
Speaking after the game, Steve Curry described playing against his brother Seth as the "coolest experience" he ever had.
"This was like the xoolest experience I think I've ever had playing against him...he was amazing tonight," Steve Curry said.
