NBA Playoffs: Portland Trail Blazers Lose 116-94 As Golden State Warriors Take Game 1 of Western Conference Final

Portland opened the final series with 116-94 defeat on the road to Golden State Warriors despite Kevin Durant not making an appearance for a calf injury.
In Durant's absence, Steve Curry made 9-in-16 three-point shots leading Warriors through a dominated Game 1 of the Western Conference finale and put up the scoreboard 36 points, six rebounds, and seven assists.
Portland did manage to keep a close trail cutting down Warriors' lead to 45-48 in the second quarter but Curry knocked down two threes back-to-back for his fourth in the first half and widen the lead even further.
Curry continued his three-point shot with four done in the third quarter as Golden State would progress to win the game. Damian Lillard had a humble night for a low scoring of 19 points, four rebounds, and six assists, same as C.J McCollum who finished with17 points, three rebounds, and an assist.
Speaking afterwards, Lillard blamed the loss on "poor executive and defense" and the need for his teammates to understand their opponents who are fond of shooting from beyond the arc.
"Yeah, that was very poor execution, you know, defensively on our part," Lillard responded when asked on his take on Game 1 "Just having our bigs that far; understanding the team we are playing against, they are not going to shoot mid-range jumpers and try to attack the rim."
Klay Thompson connected 3-in-9 shots from beyond the arc to follow Curry in the standouts with 26 points, one rebound, and three assists.
Seth Curry did not have chance as much as his brother and two-time MVP Steve Curry and only managed to get three points with three rebounds and two assists.
