NBA Playoffs: Portland Trail Blazers Will For First Ever Take on Golden State Warrior In Western Conference Final

Portland Trail Blazers finally clinched the slot for their first appearance in Western Conference final since 2000 with C.J McCollum dropping a career-high scoring of 37 points with nine rebounds and an assist to eliminate Denver Nuggets with 100-96 for a 4-3 lead in Game 7 of the WC semi-finals.
Portland had a slow start against Denver in the first half but revamped to dictate the rest of the match with Damian Lillard who has an average of 29.8 percent finished with a career-low 13 points, 10 rebounds, and eight assists while Denver's star player Nikola Jokic dropped double-double of 29 points, 13 rebounds, and two assists.
It was McCollum who held off Nuggets from a rally in the late minutes of the fourth dropping two important shots from inside the arc before Enes Kanter hit two free throws in the last 8.0 second to seal the game for Blazers.
Talking about the impact made by C.J in the team's Game 7, head coach Mike Malone praised him for shouldering the team through to the final and proved that he is "one of the best backcourts" in the NBA.
Lillard also acknowledged C.J's efforts, giving him the credit for the victory saying that "the game opened up a lot" all because of him.
It will be Blazers first-ever meeting with Golden State Warriors in the final series of the Western Conference as Warriors bid for its third consecutive NBA Championship trophy.
In 1977, Portland claimed four straight matches to lead L.A Lakers by 4.0 in their first Western Conference final appearance and progressed to win the Championship with a 4-2 lead over Philadephia 76ers.
