NBA Playoffs: Portland Trail Blazers Force Game 7 Against Denver Nuggets With 119-108 Home Win In Game 6
Damian Lillard and C.J McCollum dropped 62 points combined for Portland to force Game 7 against Denver Nuggets having 119-108 in Game 6 of their Western Conference semi-final series.
Nuggets only had the best part of the first quarter and afterward were shoved off on the board as Blazers blasted off in the lead with Lillard having more space to himself probably because they caught up Nuggets game plan unlike in Game 5.
The 28-years-old raked 17 points in the third to keep Nuggets in the trail and proceeded to lead the board by dropping in 32 points, three rebounds, and five assists.
"I think over the course of the series, at least after Game 1, I just haven't seen the ball go in consistently enough...tonight shots fell," Lillard explained afterward.
He was a bit quiet in the fourth quarter but hit an off-balance jumper to push Blazers ahead by 106-93 while McCollum kept the push for an offensive and finished with 30 points, six rebounds and three assists while Rodney Hood who came off the bench dropped a career high scoring of 25 points and four rebounds.
Denver's Jamal Murray who 24 points, 10 rebounds, and five assists finished warned Blazers that they risk suffering the same fate as San Antonio in Game 7 and implored his team to regroup with more energy ahead of the series finale on Sunday.
"We'll go back home, regroup, like we did for San Antonio, come back with energy and just be ready to play," Murray warned.
The winner of the finale will face either Golden State Warriors or Houston Rockets in the Western Conference final.
