NBA Playoffs: Golden State Warriors Take 3-0 Lead Over Portland Trail Blazers With 110-99 In Western Conference Finals
Portland Trail Blazers are one match away from elimination and despite Kevin Durant not making an appearance Golden State in the series, Warriors will be through to their fifth consecutive NBA finals.
Golden State maintained a clean slate with Portland having won 110-99 for a 3-0 lead in Game 3 of Western Conference with Draymond Green putting up his seventh postseason triple-double with 20 points, 13 rebounds, and 12 assists.
"When Kevin is not on the floor, I know I have to be more aggressive," Green said afterwards "So, whether that's attacking the basket, putting more pressure on the defense, I understand that.
Portland blew up 13-point lead from the first half having outclassed Warriors by 55-33 before their defense collapsed in the third quarter as Warriors rallied aggressively with Steve Curry and Green repeatedly borrowing through and overtook the lead by 82-79.
In the fourth, Warriors outlasted Portland by 28:20 to win the game with Curry dropping six threes to lead the standouts by 36 points, 6 rebounds, and 3 assists as Warriors staged a comeback to beat Portland at Moda Center.
Damian Lillard was literarily overshadowed during the game and well kept off space that would allow him for shots beyond the arc. He finished the game with 19 points, six rebounds, six assists whilst C.J McCollum led the team with 23 points, three rebounds, and five assists.
Portland coach Terry Stotts promised his men are going to give their "best effort" in Game 4 on Monday - a loss on this day would mean Golden State have qualified for the NBA finals.
