Maurizio Sarri Wants To Meet With Chelsea To Discuss His Future At The Club
Chelsea manager Maurizio Sarri wants to be clear on his future at the club and will be speaking with the management just to know if they are pleased with his performance thus far.
Having led the club to third place in the Premier League, the Italian, 60, returned the club to appear in the Champions League.
Sarri is set to win his first title with the club at the Europa League final and will face his next-door neighbour Arsenal on Wednesday.
"I have two more years in my contract here," Sarri said " I have no contract with any other club at the moment. I have to speak to my club after the final. I want to if they are happy with me or not."
The 60-year-old dismissed the suspicion that is future at the club hinge on the team lifting the Europa League title on next week "My future is Wednesday. I can only think about the final at the moment" but would rather leave "immediately" should that be his fate.
"If the situation is like this I want to go immediate...Ten months of work and then I have to play everything in 90 minutes? It's not right. You are happy about my work or not happy."
However, he admitted that the Premier League is one of his favourites and it is currently "most important championship in the world."
Sarri has not been spared from criticism from analysts especially for his so-called "Sarri ball" when the club's fate of making top four was hanging in the balance.
Now that he has delivered on that, it is one of his point of reference for his performance at the club and holds the notion that the team is better under him than ever before.
