LeBron James Rumoured To Be Traded In Summer Potentially To Philadelphia 76ers
LeBron James future at L.A Lakers might not last through the three-year deal he struck with the franchise last year following rumours of his trade this summer.
It was disappointing for the four-time NBA MVP to have missed appearing in the postseason with Lakers on his debut.
Lakers were off for an impressive start to the season until LeBron went down on left groin injury and Kyle Kuzma later joined him on the bench with injury leading to the team to lose games consecutively and dropped out of playoffs race.
Stephen A. Smith from ESPN revealed ahead of Golden State playoff game that there are individuals compelling the franchise owner Jeanie Buss to trade LeBron James since they are unable to get a new coach that suits him.
"Nothing is out of bounds right now. We don't know what the hell is going on in Los Angeles," Smith said "You've got folks close to Jeanie Buss imploring her to trade LeBron James. He does not have a no-trade clause, and now you haven't given him the coach that he wanted."
While Lakers are reportedly considering trading the 34-year-old, the Philly side wants to do the catch of him and for not having a no-trade clause on his three-year-old with Lakers, it makes him suitable to be traded for Ben Simmons according to Tom Haberstroh of NBC Sports.
"Fair or not, Simmons failing to add some semblance of a jump shot in Year 2 of his career is seen as a reason that Philadelphia has to put on the trade block," Haberstroh said in his report.
"It's early that process. Leanard's shot just fell through the net. ut one Western Conference executive brought up a name that could be a Simmons trade target: LeBron James."
Haberstroh also pointed out that the present situation of Lakers makes it suitable for the Philly side to nab LeBron since he has a no-trade clause in his contract with the franchise. Financially, trading Simmons for LeBron shouldn't be a problem for Sixers since both are high-salary players.
However, the cited one factor that could hinder a potential trade and that his age difference between the two players.
