'John Wick: Chapter 3' Dethrones Avengers:Endgame After Three Weekend Reign
Avengers: Endgame has dropped from the top spot of the box office as 'John Wick: Chapter 3 - Parabellum' overtook reign on its opening weekend.
The Joe and Anthony directed film's dominance got snapped in its fourth weekend run by Kanu Reeves starring film which set off a tremor in the domestic market taking $57 million on debut.
Chapter 3 performance on its opening gross is the biggest ever recorded of the franchise and in the foreign market, it pulled in $92.2 million and totalled at $149.2 million globally.
After three weekends of outstanding performance from Avengers, it slid a place down to be second in the chart with a domestic gross of $29.4 million - a 53.5% performance drop.
Aside from trailing Avatar in all-time biggest global earning with $2.614 billion, Avengers now has the second-biggest domestic earnings ($770.8m) after Star Wars: The Force Awakens ($937m) whilst it edges closer to dethrone Avatar's reign in global earnings.
In third place is Warner's game adaptation film Pokemon: Detective Pikachu which maintained strong presence hauling in $24.8 million from the domestic market in the second weekend. That brought its overall earnings from the local market to $94 million.
Globally, it currently has a cume of $206.4 million adding its earnings from the foreign market in ten-day that total at $112.4 million to its domestic gross.
Universal's 'A Dog's Journey' opened with $8 million to be fourth and in fifth place is Anne Hattaway's 'The Hustle' which added in $6 million in its second weekend to bring its total domestic earnings in ten days to $23.1 million.
