Rafael Nadal has won his season's first title with an outstanding performance that landed him the Internazionali d'italia Open title.
Novak Djokovic could not stop the nine-time champion in the final who swept off the first set to outlast him in three sets 6-0, 6-4, 6-1.
The Spaniard entered the final won six break points and 73 per cent of his service points on his 26-in-54 match win in ATP Fedex series with the world no. 1.
"I played a great first set in all aspects. No mistakes," says Nadal who dropped only eight first set games enroute the final "playing so progressive, changing directions. These kind of days happens."
Nadal leads in all-time winners in Rome with nine titles and this event victory will be his 34th ATP Masters 1000 title breaking ties with Novak Djokovic who has 33.
