French Open: Nick Kyrgios Withdraws With Illness
Australian player Nick Kyrgios has withdrawn from the competition in the opening match with British player Cameron Norrie.
The world no. 36 blamed his decision on illness but had said in an Instagram update that the competition "absolutely sucks" days before his withdrawal.
Last Week at the Italian Open, Nick retired from the second round match against Casper Ruud following an outburst of anger at the referee and said "I'm done" before walking out of the court.
Aside from pulling out of the French Open, the Australian made headlines for trolling Novak Djokovic and Rafael Nadal ahead of his match with Ruud in Rome. He called the world no. 1 "cringeworthy" and Nadal a "super salty" player who is only happy to win.
Cameron will face in his next match French player Elliot Benchetrit who outlasted Enzo Couacaud in three sets 4-6, 7-6(4), 6-2.
